Art Basel Miami Beach, The Hangover: “Art or Not Art?”

While everyone pretends that the main reason for going to Miami Beach for Art Basel is to take in the art on view and for sale at the convention center, there is a world of activity outside the confines of the main fair.
During the course of A.B.M.B., one sees way too many things, and the daily punishment from the previous night’s bacchanalian marathons starts to make everything look like art. Here, culled from the nearly 3,000 photographs I took during this year’s festivities, are a selection of moments that prompt the question “Art or Not Art?”

Lifestyle Kanye West courts controversy with dead models hanging from nooses in leaked Monster video Sunday, January 02, 2011 With dead models hanging from nooses around their necks and dismembered heads littering the floor, Kanye West has produced what must surely be his most controversial video yet. The video for Monster, leaked online today, even shows Kanye in bed with a couple of apparently dead models, positioning their limp hands to touch one another. Other scenes show a woman dragging a dead male model across the floor and a couple feasting on a bloody corpse. As well as Kanye, the video also features cameo appearances from Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, Rick Ross and indie-folk star Bon Iver. It isn't the first time Kanye has courted controversy with a video.
